‘A meal,a day’ in conjunction with Migros Vaud – Switzerland and StoryPlus Akiesha Literacy Project

In December 2002 during the delivery of StoryPlus books to Soro, we discovered that most of these children were arriving to school starving (without food for the entire school day).

Since 2003, the Foundation has extended its aim with complementary development initiatives in nutrition to amplify the efforts with a literacy component.

Thanks to the imminent launch of the Akiesha literacy project (StoryPlus first publication of a 3 volume series Akiesha) in association with Migros (Vaud – Switzerland), all proceeds from the sale of these books enable our foundation to offer a meal to all the students for each school day in 2004.

In continuous support of the action, the Chalopin family has personally donated fund for school year 2005 to present.

Since then, the success rates of exams went from 62% to 94%.
