Providing reading materials to Soro Village School
Soro is a village in Burkina Faso. It has a population of 2500 very hardworking and creative people. Unfortunately, due to poverty, many of the village inhabitants have migrated to other parts of Africa to work.
In 1982, there was no school in this little village of Soro. The remaining villagers, realizing the importance of education in helping their economic development and holding the village together, struggled to build one. This new school now has 5 classes with 150 students, but suffers from a chronic shortage of educational materials.
The StoryPlus Foundation has sent 150 story books to help the students at Soro School. These books were delivered by the Association of Jumelage St-Michel / Soro who visited the village in December 2002.
